Group Therapy...

Beyond the book is a group geared towards women who’ve experienced emotional wounding by caretakers, friends, spouses, community members, religious organizations, and/or employers who failed to provide a sense of safety by meeting emotional and physical needs. As a result, many report developing defense mechanisms, like heavy armor, to protect against pain and offset the chance of these unhealthy relationships from happening again.  Examples include, being self-sufficient, people pleasers, perfectionists, intellectualizers, caretakers, hypervigilant  and dependent on anxiety to best prepare for the future.

In this group, we utilize books to explore, process and heal our emotional wounding, exchanging fear for a sense of safety and trust. This empowers us to put down the heavy armor, because now, we believe in our capabilities.  Collectively we explore themes often impacted by pain, such as relationships, intergenerational trauma, boundaries, self-esteem/self-worth, fear, scarcity mindset, self-doubt, defeating thoughts, and forgiveness. We strive to connect back to our inner knowing/ intuition, the quiet voice that gently guides us through the storm, as well as to reclaim ourselves and the life we desire.

We welcome you to join our community of like-minded women who are working towards the same healing goals. Here you can find acceptance as you are seen and heard.

How it works...

Every two months group becomes available to new members. We then meet virtually to either discuss a book we are currently reading or a chosen topic, all of which is centered around becoming the best version of ourselves. At the end of the two months, we vote on our next book or discussion topics.  Books previously read include "Daring Greatly", "Self-Compassion" and "You Are A Badass". Group helps facilitate connection in a time of need with safe individuals who have similar goals and respect confidentiality.

There are three group options:
Wednesday, 6-7:00 p.m.
Thursday, 6:30-8:00 pm.
